Guardian Glass, the glass manufacturer behind the successful mirror cladding, developed a first-of-its-kind solution specifically for the project that had to be completed within a short period of time to be ready for the winter season’s events and performances, now hosting prominent guests and visitors from around the world. A total of 9,740-sq.m of mirrors cover the exterior walls of the cube-shaped structure reflecting the picturesque surroundings of AlUla. But the hall is attracting the crowd so much so that even Guinness Book of World Records had to declare it as world’s largest mirror-clad building.
It is difficult to say whether unique design gave the hall that name or name itself forced the designers to come up with this unique fete. Further, one can also see AlUla’s breath-taking landscape. Maraya Concert hall is located 22-km away from Al-Hijr Archaeological Site, the Kingdom’s first UNESCO Heritage site and one need not go that far to see the World Heritage Site as its reflection can be seen on the concert hall itself. Hardly four months old concert hall already holds a world record. The concert hall which was inaugurated in December 2019 is in the Northwestern Saudi province of AlUla. Maraya (Maraya in Arabic means mirror) Concert Hall is in the midst of desert and it highlights that very fact very effectively.
